Minor Rugby
U6 - U8 - U10
The Lanark Highlanders are proud to offer a non-contact introduction to the rugby program for athletes ages 5 - 10. Our certified coaches follow Rugby Canada's Long Term Athlete Development Program, providing our players with training in "FUNdamentals" and helping them progress to "Learn to Train". Coaches follow Rugby Canada's Rookie Rugby program to provide safe, quality, age-appropriate activities for our athletes.
What to Expect?
Practices are Tuesdays from 6-7 pm at Oakfield Rugby Park in Perth starting on Tuesday June 11th.
Festivals run on Sundays throughout the end of June and July.
We will celebrate the end of the season with a Highlander's Family Fun Day on August 11. Our focus for our athletes is to develop an Active Start and FUNdamentals in the sport of rugby.
That means we teach our players all the basic rugby skills, focusing on FUN!
Players receive equal playing time at festivals, although we encourage strong, competitive, and skilled play.
Our main focus is teamwork and promoting the club values of PASSION - INTEGRITY - COMMUNITY.
